The beginning of Hotel Albana
Alban, from Liechtenstein, built Hotel Albana with the help of architecture books and opened it with his wife, Maria, creating a charming 3-star hotel rooted in warm hospitality and authentic Alpine experiences.
From 3 stars to 4
Alban's son, Willy Lingg, grew up watching his parents care for the hotel and developed the same passion for hospitality.
Under Willy's direction, extensive renovations, upgraded rooms, a distinctive Gaudi-inspired Art Deco style, a jazz bar, and the hotel's first restaurant, Barcadero, marked a new era. This major extension transformed the property into Hotel Albana Real, elevating it to a 4-star hotel.
Willy Lingg and his wife, Sophie, stepped into the next chapter of Albana, continuing the family legacy.
The expansion of Fuji of Zermatt
The renowned Fuji of Zermatt was enlarged and further developed, becoming one of Switzerland's most distinctive Japanese restaurants and an integral part of the Albana experience.
Every room renewed
Over several years, all rooms and suites were extensively renovated, blending contemporary comfort with timeless Alpine elegance.
The next chapter of Albana Real
Today, their grandson Kristof Lingg and his wife Eunice are leading Albana Real into a new era.
Kristof brings a master's degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Fribourg, while Eunice, an architect with a master's degree in Interior Design and Business, leads the hotel's creative and design direction.
Together, they are thoughtfully renovating Albana Real and transforming it into a distinctive boutique hotel, honouring its heritage while elevating every aspect of the guest experience.
From a small 3-star hotel founded in 1962 to a welcoming 4-star retreat with renowned restaurants and modern comforts, Hotel Albana Real has always remained true to its values.
